The Washington Community School District talked about Director Districts as part of their meeting this week.  These Districts are being changed because of last year’s census.  Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says there will be five Director Districts and two at-large districts.

He notes the at-large districts will cover the entire School District.  The changes will take effect the 2012-2013 school year.

Dr. Jorgensen says the Board agreed to renew their membership with the Iowa Association of School Boards for one year and will look at renewing the membership next year.

He says goals of learning proficiency, parental involvement and climate education, school district facilities, and communications were established for the next fiscal year.

These goals were set up for both the School Board and the Superintendent.
