A recent poll was taken to investigate on why women with insurance skip cancer screenings. Chuck Reed from the American Cancer Society says focus groups were held recently to learn why women have been skipping their screenings. He says The American Cancer Society is trying to inform women of the importance of the screenings.
Lynn Fisher with Washington County Public Health says if someone comes to their office with questions about cancer, they will refer them to the American Cancer Society. The information gathered in the focus groups will be used to come up with an action plan to increase screening rates.
