A former Mt. Pleasant resident will be displaying examples of her artwork in the city.  Susan Johnston’s art has been on display all month, and will return for a welcome reception Sunday afternoon.

Johnston currently lives in Delaware, but called Mt. Pleasant home for six years when her husband was president of Iowa Wesleyan College.  She was an art teacher in public schools in Ohio and West Virginia for 15 years and she’s also done illustrations for House Plant Magazine, a national publication.

She specializes in watercolor art, and many of her paintings will be on display at the school.  She says she’s very excited to share her art with old friends.

The public is invited to attend the reception at Iowa Wesleyan College from 2:00 to 4:00 Sunday in the school’s art gallery.
