An event to celebrate the right to read has been scheduled at the Washington Public Library.  Don Ruffenach with the Washington Public Library says Banned Book Week is a project sponsored by the American Library Association that promotes the awareness of books that have been challenged through the years to be accepted into libraries.

He says to participate in this event they are having in reading of Ray Bradbury’s book Fahrenheit 451 which deals with books that have been banned.  A short film on Bradbury will follow a discussion of the book.

This reading and discussion will be held Saturday, the 29th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Nicola-Stoufer room.
