Disasters can happen any time in Washington County and Washington County COAD is letting everyone know about September being Emergency Preparedness Month.  Christal Arthur, COAD member says they are stressing the importance of having plenty of supplies on hand in case of an emergency.  She says items should range from battery-powered radio and a first aid kit to a whistle to call for help and your prescription medications and glasses.

Arthur adds you should also individualize your kits to match your needs and have enough supplies for a 72-hour time frame.  To learn more about Emergency Preparedness kits, contact a member of Washington County COAD.
