The Washington County Board of Supervisors have set a date for a public hearing to discuss the proposed County redistricting plan.  Brian Hora, Chair of the Washington County Redistricting Commission gave a presentation of the proposed County redistricting plans as part of the meeting yesterday morning.  The new districts have to be approved by the Supervisors and need to be sent to the Secretary of State by October 15th. The public hearing has been set for Tuesday, September 27th at 9:30.

The Supervisors also accepted and approved a Community Development Block Grant and HACAP grant award contract.

The Supervisors also planned a change in the amount of funding the Washington County Recycle Center receives from the county.  Supervisor Ron Bennett says based on extra funds in the center’s bank account he says the county should pay only $500 per month instead of $1333 a month that is paid now.  This change would be effective the first of October if the city of Washington also agrees to the change.
