Safety was the theme of the first gathering of the Brighton Bear Cub Club this week. Washington County 4-H Youth Coordinator Amy Green says the group met Wednesday to learn about many different ways to stay safe – particularly around farms.
She says students identified unsafe farm activities and what they can do to make safer decisions on farms. Green says Brighton First Responder Faye Vittetoe was also on hand to share information about how to prevent accidents at home.
Brighton students involved in the club will meet on early out days during the school year. Green says students can still get involved by contacting Brighton Horizons or the Washington County Extension office.
