The Washington City Council has three positions up for election this fall and some people have filed to run for office.  City Clerk Illa Earnest says she has received the proper paperwork for the position in Ward 1 and for the At-Large seat.  Incumbent Bob Shepherd in Ward 1 and At-Large Incumbent Karen Wilson-Johnson have both filed to run for reelection.

Also running for the At-Large seat is Mark Kendall.  All City Council candidates will serve four years.  Earnest says no paperwork has been received for the open seat in Ward 3.

She also says Larry Bartlett is running for a six-year term on the city’s park board.  Earnest says since no one has decided to run for the seat in Ward 3, a write-in candidate will be chosen in November’s election.
