The city of Washington is reminding residents that there will not be a fall trash pick up this year. City Clerk Illa Earnest says bulky items will be picked up during the normal trash route.

She adds the bulky items need to have the appropriate “bulky item sticker” which can be bought at City Hall for six dollars.

Earnest says any item that does not meet the requirement will be left behind.

Acceptable:  recliners, couches, dressers (chest of drawers), mattresses, box springs

The following will NOT be picked up:  Waste Oil: waste oil may be taken to the recycling center on Lexington Blvd.  Concrete, rocks, and bricks.  Hazardous materials such as paint, explosives, volatile compounds, poisons, drugs, household chemicals with warning labels.  Batteries.  Tires.
