The Iowa Economic Development Board has awarded a Fairfield company a grant to assist in consolidating its business to one location in the city. Harper Brush Works is considering moving its East Coast operations back to Iowa.
The company already operates a factory in Fairfield, but the move would mean all business would be conducted in Iowa. Kanan Kappelman with the Iowa Economic Development Authority says its board approved $160,000 in funds to assist with the move.
The proposal would also create 25 jobs and retain an additional 20 jobs.
Harper Brush Works has manufactured brooms, brushes, and other handheld cleaning products in Fairfield since 1900.
