Ivy Avenue outside of Washington was once again opened to thru traffic Wednesday following a three month construction project. The stretch of road between 250th and 270th streets, approximately four miles west of Washington has been closed since June 6th. Crews from DeLong Construction of Washington, restored the cross-section, reconstructed and resurfaced the road and improved the area’s ditch network and drainage.

The Ivy Avenue project is one phase of a three part construction plan.  The bid for the overall project was $1 million.

The bid for this phase of construction was 297,000 with the finished project totaling $286,000. Washington County Engineer David Patterson noted that construction activity will continue in the area with rock hauling on 270th street that he expects to be completed within the next two weeks and construction on Larch Avenue set to finish middle of next week.
