The Demon football team will open district play tonight hosting the Grinnell Tigers. These two teams played a thrilling game last season in Grinnell. Washington got up early but struggled the last five minutes of the half and found themselves down 21-14 at the half. Washington spent the second half battling back and tied the game late in the fourth quarter. With it locked up at 28-28 and about 50 seconds left, Grinnell kicker Nathan Criswell hit a 51 yard field goal to give the Tigers the 31-28 win. Tonight the Demons come in 1-1, and nearly pulled out a thrilling come back at Keokuk last week. The Chiefs were up 35-6 when the Demons fought back and the fourth and lost by seven points 35-28.
