A Keota group is close to finalizing its plans for future development in the town. The Keota Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee is meeting tonight to discuss any other information before moving forward.
Committee Chairman Scott Flynn says they have decided to focus on certain parts of the town that will be best to develop after the northwest side of Keota was deemed not as favorable. He says the committee will also review the draft of the plan drawn up at the August meeting.
City officials met with MSA Professional Services of Cedar Rapids about implementing goals contained within the plan at the August meeting as well.
Flynn says the next step will be to submit its final draft to the Keota Planning and Zoning Commission. The meeting is the final chance for the public to offer input, and takes place tonight at 7:00 in Keota City Hall.
