Southeast Iowa will be receiving a visit from two Government officials from Des Moines next month.  Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds are scheduled to hold a town hall meeting at the Washington High School library to promote the Iowa Education Summit.

The purpose of the summit held in July is to increase teacher and principal effectiveness; raise academic standards and putting in place strong matching assessments; and innovation that increases learning.

The public is invited to this town hall meeting to share their concerns with the Governor and Lieutenant Governor about the current status of our educational system.

Governor Terry Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and Special Assistant for Education Linda Lantor Fandel held a similar town hall meeting in Sigourney in July.

The Iowa Education Summit Town Hall meeting will be Thursday, October 6th at 9:30 in the Washington High School auditorium.
