The Kalona Historical Village is hosting a bus trip to a large quilt show in Des Moines. Nancy Roth with the Historical Village says they are hosting a trip to the American Quilter’s Society Show at the Iowa Events Center tomorrow.

According to the society’s website, there will be more than a thousand quilts on display some vying for just over 44-thousand dollars in cash awards.

There will also be special exhibits such as a display of World War II quilts. Roth says they first arranged a bus trip a few years ago when the Village took some of their best quilts to be displayed.

This year they aren’t displaying any but want to continue to offer people a chance to go without having to drive themselves. The show is at the Iowa Events Center.

The cost of the trip 65-dollars, which covers breakfast, dinner, bus ride, and entry into the show.  They’ll leave Kalona at 7:30 tomorrow morning.  To sign up, contact Nancy at the Kalona Historical Village at 319-656-2519.
