The city of Keota is one step away from rebuilding its downtown area.  Five buildings on Main Street were lost in a December fire, but one Keota man is prepared to bring those buildings back.

Bill Miller is the owner of the five properties along Main Street, but recently requested to construct structures that would extend five feet beyond his property lines.  City Clerk Niki Osweiler says the city council approved Miller’s request, and to comply with city code, there must first be a public hearing to finalize the plans.

She says if no resident rejects the proposal, Miller can begin construction.  The public hearing takes place Monday, September 19 at Keota City Hall.
