With the first two deer hunting seasons open, KCII along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources want to pass along tips to help keep you safe while hunting.  You should only use your own tree stand when hunting deer or other land wildlife, wear a safety harness, pull your weapon up to your stand using a rope, and always wear blaze orange.

Paul Kay with the DNR wants to remind you that if you should see a representative from their office, you should always have your current year’s license with the correct tags for the correct animal.

The youth and disabled deer hunting seasons opened last Saturday and close October 2nd.  Kay says that you should be familiar with the different regulations before leaving on your hunting trip and to contact your local DNR representative if you have any questions.
