Student Organization Online Auction About to End

Posted: Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at 6:24 am

An auction to raise funds to promote awareness of alcohol abuse prevention by a group of Keokuk County students is about to end.  The KC STAAR Project, or Keokuk County Schools Tactics on Alcohol Abuse Reduction, is a group of about 60 students in the four Keokuk County school districts that encourage their peers to avoid alcohol and promote safety.

Project Director Lynne Zoulek says this fundraising effort involves an online auction much like eBay.  She says some of the items up for auction have included jewelry, gift certificates, vacation packages, and local sports memorabilia.

It started two weeks ago and ends tomorrow at 9:00 p.m.  For the link to the auction website, look here.
