The Mid-Prairie and Keota School Boards met Monday night in a joint session. Both districts discussed resolutions regarding applications for benefits from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. The Keota resolution was funding for Keota Technology Unlimited in a grant request for $46,938 toward the $71,938 toward technology upgrades within the district.

The Mid-Prairie resolution was for nine projects including technology upgrades at Kalona Elementary, Wellman Elementary, overall increase of student access to technology in the district, as well as 21st century learning for the 4th grade level, Mid-Prairie Fine Arts Mobile Mac Lab and Camera’s, summer learning and discovery programs, Theatre for Young Audiences and a baseball and softball hitting facility.

The grant amount Mid-Prairie is seeking totals $241,000 toward the total project cost of $379,927. The deadline for submission of grant requests is October 6th, 2011.
