The Kalona Public Library is offering an opportunity for blind and visually impaired residents of Washington County and the surrounding area.  Barb Weigel with the Iowa Department for the Blind says speakers will discuss simple methods for staying independent while dealing with vision loss.

She says topics that will be covered include how to write checks, how to use free newspaper reading programs, reading with audio books, and more.

The seminar takes place Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 at the Kalona Public Library.  For more information, look at the contact information under this story at kciiradio.com.
