The Washington School Board received a financial donation as part of their meeting last night. Mike Roth and seven other members of the class of 1976 raised funds over the summer for the high school’s Fine Arts programs. Roth says the class was able to receive $4500 in funds and challenges all future classes to match and beat that donation.
The School Board also selected a delegate to the Iowa Association of School Board Convention which will take place in November. They also decided to pursue a $280,000 grant toward the replacement of two broilers in the 1918 building.
If the grant is received, the work for the broilers will have to be completed by March of next year. The Washington School Board’s next meeting will be in Brighton on October 12th.
