The Washington County Board of Supervisors held readings of ordinance changes as part of their meeting yesterday.[simage=2474,400,n,center]

The first reading of proposed text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance was presented by Zoning Administrator Steve LaFaurie.  LaFaurie says these changes are to correct errors and omissions found in the original text, adopt terminology that’s standard for our region, and clarify language where there might be possible misinterpretation.

The Supervisors approved the first reading and a second reading will be held as part of next week’s meeting.  The second reading of the ordinance for the County’s plans for new precincts was read as well.

The third reading of this ordinance was waived.  The newly approved precincts will take effect January 15th of next year.

In addition to the readings the Supervisors approved the acknowledgement of Riverboat Foundation grant applications.

The Washington County Conservation Board is requesting $60,000 for a trail from the Ainsworth city limits to Marr Park and Washington County Public Health is asking for $75,000 toward the Healthy Community Coalition.
