Books are on sale to highlight the county’s barn quilts.  Julie Mangold with the Barn Quilt Committee says there are only 50 books available which are showcasing the different barns in the county.

She says they wanted to have a record of the project as well as give a copy of the books to the libraries in the county for people to check out.  Mangold says things like the age of the barn and where it’s located comes in to play when deciding to put up a quilt pattern.

The books can be purchased at the Washington County Extension office for $50.  The proceeds from the books will go toward the maintenance of the existing quilts.
