The Washington City Council has agreed to land usage for the Washington Area Soccer Club. The Council has decided to allow 9.4 acres of land currently used for corn on the “School 90” to be used by the Club. In exchange for the land use, the FFA who was using the ground will be given land of comparable yield on land purchased last summer by the city.
A second reading of the ordinance amendment of a yield sign at East 9th Street and North 7th Avenue as well as for a no parking zone on South 2nd Avenue at East Madison Street was conducted.
A third reading will be will be held at the next city council meeting to approve the amendments. A public hearing has been set for the west side sanitary sewer interceptor project. The public hearing will be part of the November 2nd Council meeting in the old public library.
