The Demons volleyball team played well at their tournament on Saturday. They were hosting Wapello, Wilton, Tri-County, Regina, Keota, Sigourney, and IMS. Demon Head Coach Jeff Spenner says they went 3-0 in pool play and qualified for the championship round, something they haven’t done at their tournament in a long time. The Demons lost to Wilton in the semifinals and lost to Regina in the third place match so the Demons ended up fourth. Washington will host Pekin tonight.

IMS was also playing in that tournament. IMS beat Keota 2-1 and loss to Regina, Wilton, and Sigourney but went three games with all of them. IMS Head Coach Cindy Miller says they played great defense at times but the biggest thing for them is they struggled with inconsistency.

Casey Perez – 14 kills, 57 assists, 40-42 serving with 5 aces, 39 digs
Laura Hochstetler – 15 kills, 25-29 serving with 4 aces, 35 digs
Olivia Yutzy – 35 kills, 26-30 serving with 5 aces, 23 digs
Laura Yoder – 11 kills, 28-29 serving with 5 aces
Naomi Miller – 35-37 serving with 4 aces, 32 digs
Keilah Brokaw – 22-22 serving with 3 aces, 15 digs

IMS will next travel to face Pekin on Thursday.
