Washington is receiving a visit from two Government officials from Des Moines tomorrow.  Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds are scheduled to hold a town hall meeting at the Washington High School library to promote the Iowa Education Summit.

The summit was held in July and the purpose is to increase teacher and principal effectiveness; raise academic standards and putting in place strong matching assessments; and innovation that increases learning.

Everyone is invited to this town hall meeting to share their concerns with the Governor and Lieutenant Governor about the current status of our educational system.

A similar town hall meeting was held in Sigourney in July where Governor Terry Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and Special Assistant for Education Linda Lantor Fandel attended.

The Iowa Education Summit Town Hall meeting is tomorrow at 9:30 in the Washington High School auditorium.
