Many Kalona Elementary students will be hoofing it to school tomorrow. It’s part of International Walk to School Day. The event aims to promote physical activity as well as community awareness.
One of the things participants are encouraged to do is note whether or not routes and sidewalks are safe for those that walk to school daily.
The school along with local and county officials will be taking part such as the Kalona City Manager, County Engineer, Public Health, and Sheriff’s Office.
The walk will start at Kalona Mennonite Church and go a fourth of a mile to the elementary school.
