KC STAAR has finished their recent online auction fund raiser and has come close to their goal. The program’s director Lynne Zoulek says the grant they operate under doesn’t pay for all of their activities they put on. She says money raised from fund raisers go to things such as their Midnight March Madness event as well as educational activities in the schools.

Zoulek says with their recent online auction, they raised around $750, which is not far from what they were trying to raise.  This is the first time they put on an online auction and she says they will likely do a similar auction in the spring.

The organization sold various items donated by merchants primarily in Keokuk County.  KC STAAR works in Sigourney, Keota, Pekin, and Tri-County school districts.
