A case of listeria has been reported in northwestern Iowa and Chrystal Woller from Washington County Public Health says this case has been linked to tainted cantaloupes from Colorado.  She says the next step for Public Health is to continue to track other cases that have been reported.  Woller says the person is being treated with antibiotics prescribed by their doctor.

She says the most common signs of listeriosis are fever and muscle aches preceded by gastro-intestinal symptoms.

Woller adds the best way to stay healthy is to thoroughly wash all foods before eating them.
