The Demon cross country teams were facing a tough field at their state qualifying meet in Anamosa. Head Coach Steve Roth said heading in it was almost a state meet field with some of the teams at that site. The top three teams advance to state and the top ten individuals go. For Washington they did not have anyone move on. Stephanie Loy had the Demons’ best finish placing 28th. Regan Enfield finished 68th and Sara Greiner 60th.

On the boys’ side, Noah Lebsack finished 48th, Sergio Andrade 62nd, and Fletcher Green 72nd.

In 1A, the area schools were running at Wapello. Highland boys qualified for state with a first place team finish. Individually for Highland:

In Class 2A, Mid-Prairie was running at Louisa-Muscatine. Mid-Prairie finished 8th as a team on the girls side. The Golden Hawks did have two girls qualify as individuals. Sofia Chmaruk finished third and Mallory McArtor finished tenth.

On the boys side, Mid-Prairie just missed moving on to state as a team with a fourth place team finish. The Golden Hawks had one runner qualify for state with Peter Schwartz finishing sixth.
