The Washington School Board met in the Brighton Community Center last night and recognized retiring Board Member Richard Bordwell.  Bordwell received an engraved bell after serving a total of 15 years from 1984-1996, 1998, and from 2008-2011.  All board members winning in the last election were sworn in as well.

Members Stephanie Ellingson, Troy Suchan, and Eric Turner were sworn in to serve another term while Ericka Raber was sworn in to replace Richard Bordwell.  The new board elected Eric Turner as President and Heidi Vittetoe was chosen as Vice President.

Reports were presented from Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen stating the district had an average cost of $3.79 per mile to transport students last year.  The Board also heard an update on the new high school from Dan Culp.

Culp says the project remains on schedule and on budget.  A tour of the new high school has been set for December 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
