Class 1A postseason volleyball got underway last night and a couple of area schools were involved in some nail biting five game matches. First Sigourney was hosting Keota and the Savages started out taking the first two games 25-20. Keota came back to win the third 25-22 and 25-12. In the final frame it’s the first to fifteen winning by two and the Savages won the fifth 16-14. So Sigourney now advances to face HLV in Victor next Tuesday. HLV was a winner over IMS in four.

HLV took the first 25-13, IMS won the second 25-19, but it was HLV winning the next two 25-16, 25-19. For IMS:

Meanwhile, the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves were hosting Burlington Notre Dame. The teams went back and fourth with Winfield-Mount Union winning the first, Notre Dame took the second and third, and Winfield-Mount Union won the fourth 25-22 to go to the fifth game. In the fifth the Wolves won 16-14 to advance. They now face third ranked Holy Trinity.

Also last night, WACO beat Lone Tree in four. Lone Tree took the first game and the Warriors won the next three. WACO will now play New London.
