The Iowa Farm Bureau says the congressional ratification of free trade agreements with Columbia, Panama, and South Korea,  will help Iowa’s ag operations.  Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Lang says these agreements have been done for a while, but congressional ratification came only recently. He says with these agreements, it allows their agricultural products to be sold in those countries at a price that is cheaper than they can make it themselves.

Lang says these three countries have had similar agreements with other ag producing countries such as Australia and Canada, and this will allow U.S. products  to compete. He feels with many pork, corn, and soybean producers in Southeast Iowa, this will be very beneficial to this part of the state.
