Area farmers still have an opportunity to help their local communities grow.  The Monsanto America’s Farmers Grow Communities program is directing $2,500 to non‑profit organizations in their local communities.

Linda Arnold, from the Monsanto Corporation says the program started two years ago and since that time nearly sixty thousand farmers in 38 states have signed up and more than four point two million dollars has been donated to rural America.

She says in January of next year a winner will be chosen in each eligible county.  Last year, Larry Cuddeback from Washington County chose the Washington Junior High School to receive the grant.

The applications are due November 30th and the application can be found by following the link here.
