Washington County 4-H members participated in Ak-Sar-Ben livestock competitions recently in Omaha, Nebraska.  Amy Green, Washington County 4-H Youth Coordinator says Ak‑Sar‑Ben is a livestock competition where any youth can participate.  This year breeding beef, feeder calves, market beef and swine was shown.

Several of the attendees won ribbons during the competition as well.  Green says the youth have to nominate what animals they are hoping to take and have not been shown in a county fair previously.  To see the list of winners, look below:
