Discussion was held recently about what to do about the replacement of a position in Wellman.  City Administrator Mark Baker says City Clerk Donna Wade is retiring soon and they are trying to look for a replacement. He says many towns the size of Wellman combine the roles of City Administrator, City Clerk and Treasurer into one position and then hire a Deputy Clerk.

Baker says the duties of this new position would be to handle the day to day accounting, money deposits, bank reconciliation and general bookkeeping.  He says they held discussion before everything was completed to fill the position.

Baker says they want to hold interviews in late December or early January and have the new person start in February and March while they work on the city budgets.  He adds the goal is to have the new person work with Donna for a period of time to become familiar with the job because of the complexity of the duties.
