The U-S Postal Services has decided to close the West Chester Post Office. Postal Service Spokesman Richard Watkins says because they are not supported by taxes they rely on stamp sales and other revenue sources. He says in recent years they’ve seen a decline in the amount of mail people are sending.

According to Watkins, that decline is being driven by the internet. Watkins says the West Chester Post Office will close next Friday.

Residents’ mail will now be delivered to cluster boxes at a central location. He says these boxes are secured and each resident will receive a key to open their box. Also there will be a slot for outgoing mail.
