Beatty and Peterseim Funeral Homes is celebrating their 95th anniversary next year, but before that they will be hosting a program dealing with Holiday Grieving Help. Jan Peterseim of the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona says it’s not just an event for those who have lost someone. It can be a time for those dealing with separation or deployment as well, anyone who will be without a loved one over the holidays.

It will start with a practical presentation on coping with holiday grief, followed by a candle lighting ceremony in remembrance of loved ones. There will be a time for refreshments and fellowship after the ceremony.

Peterseim says it’s good for those who have lost someone or who are without someone for the holiday season to get together to share. The program will be held at the Kalona United Methodist Church on December 3rd at 4pm.
