The Washington County Board of Supervisors have approved a change in a speed limit in the county. A resolution was passed regarding a change to the speed limit on Wayland Road. County Auditor Bill Fredrick says this change came from the city of Washington lowering the speed limit within the city limits.
He says the Secondary Roads Department studied the drop in speed and recommended the change. The speed limit will be 45 mph from 900 feet north of 265th Street to the city limits.
County Engineer David Patterson says the new signs should be installed Monday and the new limit will be in effect upon the posting of the new signs.
The supervisors also established a public hearing date for the county’s jail bond refunding. This public hearing will take place on November 15th at 9:30 in the Washington County Courthouse.
