Books are still on sale to highlight the county’s barn quilts.  Julie Mangold with the Barn Quilt Committee says they started with 50 books available showcasing the different barns in the county.  She says they wanted to have a record of the project as well as give a copy of the books to the libraries in the county for people to check out.

Mangold says some of the books have already been sold.  She adds things like the age of the barn and where it’s located help in deciding where to put up a quilt pattern.

The books can be purchased at the Washington County Extension office for $50.  The proceeds from the books will go toward the maintenance of the existing quilts.
