Iowans are being warned against buying prescription drugs online. The problem is growing in rural Iowa, where people try to avoid making long drives to the doctor and pharmacy to get a prescription and drug. Buying drugs from these sites is illegal and dangerous. The drugs are often fakes, or have been prepared in unsanitary conditions. Sarah Yoder-Smith with MECCA Services says a bigger problem around Washington County is people sharing drugs. She says this can be just as dangerous because that may not be the drug that is needed, or the pills may be past their expiration date.
