A film documentary is being shown tomorrow to highlight Veterans and other who serve locally.  Cassie Creasy, a Volunteer Program Specialist with the United Way of Johnson County and in conjunction with the Washington Chamber of Commerce says the program “New York Says Thank You” is about the New York firefighters that started a pay it forward movement after 09/11.

She says each year they commemorate everything America gave to them in their time of need and focus on a community or community building that has been destroyed by a natural disaster and work to rebuild it.

A special appearance will also be made by Mrs. Iowa, Elaine Reinholz who is a Desert Storm veteran along with Joe Reinholz, an Iraz vet and 09/11 First Responder.  The film is free and will be shown tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 in the Washington Public Library.
