The National Emergency Alert System will be conducting a test on November the 9th. The test will be approximately three minutes in length, which is longer than most tests, and will be on every channel. The length of the test has some officials worried that people might panic. Washington County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Larry Smith, says they aren’t doing anything differently from how they’ve done it in the past. He says they don’t need to prepare people that much, Washington County hasn’t had any instances of people panicking over past test. KCII would like to remind you that we are the one to count on for up to date information in an emergency.
