When the girls basketball season kicks off around southeast Iowa, IMS fans will see a familiar and yet new face on the sidelines during games. Aaron Gingerich, the new IMS head girls basketball coach is an IMS graduate who played on the 2004-2005 IMS state tournament basketball teams. Gingerich played his college ball at Ellsworth Community College, Hesston College and Bethel College. Not only is Gingerich a familiar face on the court but also on the sidelines at IMS, spending last year as an assistant on the boys team under head coach Dwight Gingerich. Gingerich inherits a team that is young but has some good on floor experience. IMS will be in action at the Mid-Prairie jamboree tomorrow night taking on West Branch at 6:45PM. The IMS girls officially open up the season at home Tuesday against WACO.
