The Kalona City Council held its meeting Monday. On the agenda were discussions of the city’s golf cart ordinance as well as a discussion on the current FEMA mapping.They have laid out some guidelines for golf carts. They must have working head and tail lights and cannot go more than 25 miles per hour. The biggest issue of the meeting was about the A Avenue Bridge. The bridge was recently completed but they discussed some issues about the sidewalk grade as well as the culverts underneath it. These changes were approved and will cost the city an additional $17,000.
