The Keota City Council met on Monday. One of the primary topics of discussion was a letter from the DNR regarding their sewer system. Niki Osweiler, City Clerk of Keota, tells us that they did not meet with a DNR Representative at this meeting, but they have arranged to meet with one at the next meeting. Cameron Conrad, who has been hired as the contractor for this project, arranged for a DNR Representative to come to the next meeting to discuss several options for bringing the sewer system up to code. The options Conrad came up with were more cost effective for the city than plans from another contractor. This is the second meeting to discuss the DNR’s letter. The first was a special meeting in October specifically for this issue.
