A new service location is available in the county for those currently out of work.  Iowa Workforce Development has added an IowaWORKS Access Point in Washington.  Debbie Stanton with the Washington Library says it is nice to offer this service since the unemployment office closed in Washington earlier this year.

She adds their adult patron computers have this software program installed on them and are available when the library is open. The program provides options such as job search opportunities and resume skills.

Stanton says people are already starting to use the program and she is pleased the library is able to offer this service.  The Kalona Library started offering this service in September and access to IowaWORKS can also be found at the Wellman Scofield Library.
