Presidential Candidate and Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum visited Washington today at Café Dodici. He spoke on a variety of issues from natural resources to education.

He says if we allowed business to use our country’s natural resources, we could eliminate conflicts with other countries and drive down the cost of energy. On the topic of education, he says schools need to be more focused on individual children’s needs.

He says the parents need to be very involved, and he would call on them to pressure the National Education Association to change to fit what the parents want for their kids. He also says that as president he would work to reduce the power of the courts.

Santorum visited Iowa last year to encourage voters to vote out the Iowa Judges up for retention because of their stance on same-sex marriage. He says there is nothing in the constitution to give the courts so much power.

He closed by telling Iowa voters he needs their support. He applauded Iowa for fighting to keep its first in the nation status and said the Iowa Caucuses were important for his campaign, which is grassroots based and doesn’t get the political coverage some of the other presidential hopefuls do.

He spoke at Café Dodici today from noon to 1pm.
