A former Demon led her college basketball team to a couple of big wins over the weekend. Cassey Sobaski is playing at Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devils and is one of the captains in her sophomore year. The team was competing in an early season tournament. In the first game they were playing Penn Valley and trailed 56-39 with six minutes to go. The Blue Devils went on 19-2 run to send it to overtime. A rebound and put back by Sobaski at the end of regulation sent it to OT. In overtime she hit two big free throws to give her team the lead for the first time in the game. The Blue Devils won on a Sobaski layup, she had 13 points 10 rebounds and six assists.

In the other game, the Blue Devils won 63-60 over Cloud County. In that game Sobaski had her career high with 28 points including five three pointers, six rebounds and four assists. Sobaski was a four year varsity starter as a Demon.

There is a site change for tonight’s Washington 7th grade boys basketball game in Burlington. Originally they were going to play this evening in the Clark Field House, now it will be played at James Madison Middle School which is at 2132 Madison Avenue.
