A portion of a street in downtown Washington will be closed starting tomorrow.  City Engineer, Rob McDonald says the southbound lane of South Marion Avenue from Washington Street to the next alley south will be closed starting tomorrow morning to get ready for demolition work of the Tienda La Cruz buildings.

He says the work will begin on Monday and will be completed by Cornerstone Excavating of Washington.  All parked cars need to be moved from the west and middle spaces in this section of the street.  The demolition work is scheduled to be completed in approximately one month.
